Bill Holt - a USAF Flight Engineer that cannot get planes out of his blood.
He now builds the most unusual on earth. The Photos are of my copy that hangs in my office. James, ed.
“I started making these about 30 years ago. When I started it was a one can thing and I was so embarrassed to show it to any one. I had a lot of cardiac trouble so I had a lot of time to piddle around. This is when I started building these planes. I has taken me all the years to get to where they are now. I'm sure some one bought one and copied it. I have them all over the US and a few overseas.
One resides on an aircraft carrier where the plane hangs in the doorway of the ready room. I know this because I sold one to a lady here in Florida and she told me she gave it to here son who was stationed on the carrier. He says that after they get the call to go to the flight-deck they all spin the prop for good luck. This made me exceedingly happy makes the whole effort worthwhile.. I sell them it take me 8 hours to make one.
We had a reunion in Nashville that so I made a lot of them, took them with me and gave one to all that was there.
They are composed of 16 cans and 4 coat hangers.
